RadiofearSkyline Radiofear(@radiofear) is an electronic music producer and DJ based in Seoul. Encompassing a variety of genres including Detroit house, Electro, House Techno, and Ambient, he released his first album 'Dataspace' in 2021 and now follows up with his second album "Skyline," in collaboration with the Swiss record label Ozelot(@ozelotltd), located in Zurich. The first album, 'Dataspace,' had feelings from traveling through space on a spaceship on its cover. The second album, 'Skyline,' is about the emotions of the spaceship landing in the city of Seoul. Just as with his first album, the release of his second album coincides with the exhibition. Radiofear(@radiofear)는 서울을 기반으로 활동하는 일렉트로닉 음악 프로듀서이자 DJ이다. 디트로이트 하우스, 일렉트로, 하우스 테크노, 앰비언트 등 다양한 장르를 아우르는 그는 2021년 첫 번째 앨범 ‘Dataspace’ 발매 이후 두번째 앨범 “Skyline”을 스위스 취리히에 위치한 레코드 레이블 Ozelot(@ozelotltd)과 함께 발매한다. 첫 번째 앨범인 'Dataspace'는 앨범 커버 속 우주선을 타고 우주를 여행하는 과정에서 느끼는 감정들이 담겨 있었다면, 두 번째 앨범 'Skyline'에서는 그 우주선이 서울이라는 도시에 착륙하여 느끼는 감정들이 담겨있다고 한다. 첫 번째 앨범에 이어 두번째 앨범 발매도 전시와 함께 선보인다. This exhibition is in conjunction with the release of a new album titled "Skyline EP" and it aims to capture the experiences of modern individuals living in the sprawling city of Seoul. Radiofear has gone beyond simply playing composed music in the exhibition space; they've been directly involved in crafting the speakers used, employing external elements to directly convey the intentions and messages of the album. The creation of the speakers involved the participation of Lemon Seoul(@lemon_seoul) and Indie Salon(@indiesalon). 2023년 8월 24일부터 29일까지 이태원에 위치한 WWF(@workingwithfriend)에서 개최될 그의 두 번째 전시는 "Skyline EP"라는 새로운 앨범의 발매와 함께 서울이라는 거대한 도시에 거주하는 현대인들의 경험을 담아내고 있다. 그는 전시 공간 내의 스피커 제작에도 직접 참여하여 작곡한 음악을 단순히 재생하는 것을 넘어 그 외적인 요소를 통해서 앨범의 의도와 메시지를 직접적으로 전달한다. 스피커 제작과 디자인에는 레몬 서울(@lemon_seoul), 인디살롱(@indiesalon)이 함께 했다. On the 4th floor of the exhibition space, there's a place to sit and enjoy music. Artist Lee Gyuhan(@gyuhan_lee) made the chairs for this exhibition. 'Skyline EP' was inspired by Seoul city, and he got the idea from roadside drain covers in Seoul city, 전시 공간의 4층에는 음악 감상을 즐기며 앉아있을 수 있는 공간이 마련되어 있으며, 이를 위한 의자 제작에는 아티스트 이규한(@gyuhan_lee)이 참여했다. 서울이라는 도시에서 영감을 받아 제작된 이 앨범을 위해 도로변의 배수구에서 아이디어를 얻었다고 한다. The first track of the "Skyline EP" is called "Asphalt." It represents how the roads that hold up the many cars and people in Seoul symbolize both the coldness and warmth of the city. The next track, "City Report," uses fast drum sounds to show the energy and hurry of the city's fast life. "Morning Shift" talks about the dark sky people see when they go to work early in the morning. It's different from the city's busy and bright feeling. The last song, the title track "Skyline," is all about the city. It takes inspiration from the lights of cars and ads that fill the city, showing the energy and loneliness of the city, along with what Radiofear personally feels. “Skyline EP”의 첫 트랙 “Asphalt”는 서울의 수많은 차량과 사람들을 지탱하는 도로의 재료로 도시의 차가움과 따뜻함을 상징한다고 한다. 다음 트랙 “City Report”는 도시의 빠른 생활 속도를 표현했는데 트랙 속 빠른 드럼 소리로 도시의 활력과 긴급성을 나타냈다고 한다. “Morning Shift”는 이른 아침 출근하는 사람들이 보는 어두운 하늘을 묘사하는데 이는 도시의 밝고 붐비는 분위기와 대조를 이룬다. 마지막으로 앨범의 타이틀곡 “Skyline”은 도시를 가득 채우는 차량과 광고판의 불빛에서 영감을 받아 활력과 고독이 공존하는 도시의 특징과 Radiofear의 개인적인 경험에 초점을 두었다고 한다. Bolting Bits · PREMIERE: Radiofear - Skyline Radiofear captures the perspective and emotions of people living in the city of Seoul for this album. The music he created depicting various aspects of Seoul showcases the beauty and challenges of urban life, portraying life in a dynamic environment harmoniously. On the 3rd floor of the exhibition space, you can purchase the album LP and merchandise. PER(permanent.external.records) participated in the creation of merchandise, including T-shirts and eco-bags. Radiofear's exhibition, which goes beyond composition and LP production to encompass the medium and environment through which music is expressed, represents a format of exhibition that was not easily experienced in Korea before. He plans to continue organizing exhibitions like this with each album release to introduce somewhat unfamiliar music and culture to the public. Even though the songs don't have lyrics, after experiencing the exhibition, you could fully grasp the album's intent and message he wanted to convey.I recommend watching the video on the 4th floor that explains the album before you go see the exhibition. Radiofear는 이번 앨범에 '서울'이라는 도시에 사는 사람들의 시각과 감정을 담아냈다. 그가 관찰한 서울의 다양한 면모를 그린 음악들은 도시 생활의 아름다움과 도전을 조화롭게 보여주며 다이나믹한 환경에서의 삶을 표현한다. 전시 공간 3층에서는 이번 앨범 LP와 굿즈들을 구매할 수 있다. 굿즈로 제작된 티셔츠와 에코백 제작에는 PER(@permanent.external.records)이 참여했다. 작곡과 LP 제작을 넘어 음악이 표현되는 매체와 환경까지 기획한 Radiofear의 전시는 한국에서는 이전까지 경험하기 쉽지 않았던 형식의 전시였다. 그는 앨범을 발매할 때마다 이와 같은 전시를 기획하여 대중들에게 다소 낯선 음악과 문화를 지속적으로 소개할 것이라고 한다. 전시를 관람한 후에는 곡의 가사는 없었지만, 그가 전달하고자 하는 앨범의 의도와 메시지를 충분히 느낄 수 있었다. 4층에서 앨범에 대한 설명이 담긴 영상을 먼저 시청한 후에 전시를 관람하는 것을 추천한다.
